Easy Way To Write Essay
Writing an essay is challenging. There are terms used to referring type of paragraph like descriptive, narrative, persuasive, argumentative, and many more which may sound very confusing. In many occasions, to write an essay, you have to also mention facts, statistical data, and give your opinion and claim. At first, writing seems difficult for me to do. However, I found a way to make things easier which is to choose topic I know well, that leads me to think inspiration comes when I know exactly what I’m going to write.
My writings are mostly based on my own experience. When I’m about to choose a topic, I try to remember problems that bother me (e.g, my friends’ stories, or trends that are happening now). For example, in one of my essay, I wrote about congestion in Ciledug caused by Transjakarta’s lane. After I decided that topic, I looked for more data and facts to make my writing stronger and fuller with information. Then, I adjusted how the information should be conveyed into a descriptive, narrative, persuasive, or argumentative writing depending on what type of essay I am going to write. Once you get the idea, the next step of writing an essay becomes a lot easier.
Most of my friends mention that one of the challenging parts of writing an essay is the language barrier as our mother language is Indonesian instead of English. However, I don’t see that as a problem. In my opinion, the problem isn’t because we have to use English, but it’s more because they don’t understand what the topic is. Only knowing the topic is not enough, you have to understand what you are going to tell to the readers in your essay. If you don’t know certain words, you can seek them in the dictionary. But if you don’t understand your own writing, how are you going to expect the readers to understand? That’s why you have to make sure that you clearly know and understand what your essay is.
Writing an essay is quite hard. You have to undestand the topic, make sure that your readers will understand your writing, and do research so that what you tell is based on fact.s Furthermore, once I find a way—a trick to get a grip on the topic, writing becomes easier and fun to do. Although it is sometimes frustating, I quite enjoy the process of writing. (Mitha Rachmayani)
